PDF to Word Converter

Turn any PDF into an editable Word (.docx) document — right in your browser.

Drop a PDF below and the tool reads its text layer, rebuilds the paragraphs in reading order and packages them into a clean .docx file you can edit in Microsoft Word, Google Docs or LibreOffice. Everything runs on your own device, so confidential documents are never uploaded.

1. Choose your PDF file(s)

Multiple files are allowed — each PDF becomes its own Word document unless you merge them.

Drag & drop your PDF here

or browse your files — .pdf only, up to 100 MB each

No files selected yet — drop a PDF above to begin.

2. Conversion options

🔒 Private by design: your PDF is read by your own browser — no upload, no server, no storage. Nothing is kept once you close the tab.

How to convert a PDF to Word

Three clicks, no account and no software to install.

  1. Drop your PDF

Drag the file onto the upload box (or browse for it). Several PDFs can be queued at once — each one is handled separately.

  2. Pick your options

Choose .docx or plain text, keep or drop the automatic heading detection, and decide whether PDF pages should start on new Word pages.

  3. Convert

The browser reads every page's text layer, groups the lines into paragraphs and shows you a live progress bar while it works.

  4. Download & edit

Grab the .docx file and open it in Word, Google Docs, Pages or LibreOffice — the text is fully editable.

PDF to Word — frequently asked questions

The short answers before you upload anything.

Is this PDF to Word converter free?

Yes. The converter is completely free — no sign-up, no watermark and no per-page charge.

Are my PDF files uploaded to a server?

No. Everything happens inside your browser, so the document never leaves your device. That is also why the conversion is so fast.

Will the Word file look exactly like the PDF?

The tool rebuilds the text of the PDF into flowing Word paragraphs and keeps the page breaks, but it does not reproduce artwork, multi-column layouts or scanned images. A PDF stores text as individually positioned glyphs, so a text-based rebuild is the only way to give you something editable.

Can I convert a scanned PDF?

Only if the scan already contains an OCR text layer. A pure image scan has no text to extract, and the result will be empty — run it through an OCR tool first, then convert.

What about password-protected PDFs?

Encrypted files cannot be read until they are unlocked. Use our PDF Unlocker first, then convert the unlocked copy.
