What the tool can and cannot do, in plain language.
Can it open a PDF if I do not know the password?
No — and no legitimate tool can. This unlocks PDFs whose password you already have: it removes the encryption wrapper from a copy so sharing the document no longer requires a password. It never guesses or brute-forces passwords.
Does the page work offline?
The page needs an internet connection the first time so the PDF engines can be fetched from their CDNs. The conversion itself never sends your document anywhere, so no data leaves your device.
Will quality or text be lost?
In the recommended “keep text & quality” mode the original page content is copied as-is, so text stays selectable and images keep their resolution — only the security handler is removed.
What is the image fallback for?
A few PDFs use unusual or damaged crypt filters that the direct method cannot read. The fallback renders each page to a picture and builds a new PDF from those images. The result is unlocked but no longer text-searchable, so use it only if the direct method fails.
My PDF opens without a password — can I still use the tool?
Yes. Leave the password empty. Documents that only restrict printing or copying (owner-password-only) are re-saved without those restrictions.
